Initial Consultation
Every journey at Nature Connections begins with an initial consultation—a phone or video call where we get to know your child and your family’s needs. During this chat, we’ll discuss your goals, answer questions about our approach, and explore how nature-based occupational therapy can support your child’s growth.
This brief 15-minute conversation helps us create a personalized plan before moving forward, ensuring every experience is tailored, purposeful, and aligned with your child’s strengths and challenges. There is no charge for the initial consultation.
Comprehensive Evaluation
Our comprehensive evaluation provides a thorough understanding of your child’s strengths, challenges, and developmental needs. The evaluation may include standardized testing, questionnaires, interviews with caregivers, and direct clinical observation.
After the assessment, you’ll receive a formal written report detailing findings, recommendations, and next steps. We also schedule a follow-up meeting to review results, answer questions, and collaborate on a personalized plan to support your child’s growth and success.
Diagnostic Treatment Session
Our diagnostic treatment session is a lower-cost alternative to a full comprehensive evaluation. During this one-hour session, we may use similar methods—such as standardized testing, observation, guided activities, and discussion with caregivers—to understand your child’s strengths and areas of need.
This session does not include a formal written report or follow-up meeting, but it provides valuable insight and guidance to help plan next steps in therapy. It’s a flexible, accessible option for families looking to explore services and better understand their child’s needs.
Treatment
Our treatment sessions are typically held on a regular schedule and last one hour. Each session is tailored to your child’s established therapy goals, providing structured, hands-on support in a fun and engaging environment.
Sessions may include outdoor activities, animal interactions, sensory experiences, and skill-building exercises—all designed to help your child develop confidence, independence, and success in daily life.
Note: To begin treatment, a child must first have completed either a comprehensive evaluation or a diagnostic treatment session. An occupational therapy evaluation completed by another practictioner within the past 12 months may also be acceptable.
Payment
Nature Connections is not currently credentialed with any insurance companies. However, a superbill can be provided for any client wishing to seek reimbursement from their insurance company. A superbill is a detailed, itemized invoice stating the services a client received. After services are paid in full, Nature Connections will issue a superbill which the client can present to insurance for reimbursement at the insurance company’s determined rate.
